Ethical Luxury: Elegantly Environmental.

Ethical Luxury: Elegantly Environmental.

There is an unfortunate misconception that ethical fashion is beige and boring. That the ethical consumer is happy to put their principles before style. But here at Ayten Gasson we know that's not the case, thanks to the amazing feedback from our wonderful customers. We are constantly being asked for a wider selection of styles and colours in our eco lingerie range, and we are slowly taking steps to introduce a wider selection of ethical lingerie.

This is why we are so pleased to introduce our alexia collection. Organic black peace silk has been combined with cotton Nottingham leavers lace. Peace silk is ethical and cruelty free because it allows the silkworm to emerge out of the cocoon naturally, instead of being boiled alive, which is the process used to extract the fibres for conventional silk. Fibres from the damaged cocoon are then spun together forming a silk which has a luxurious feel, with a raw appearance.  The lightweight silk feels as soft as cotton, yet has the raw appearance of dupion silk. Both the peace silk and the cotton lace have been produced in the UK, in keeping with our ethos of embracing as much of the UK fashion industry as possible. Each piece has been proudly made in the UK in our Brighton based studio.

Here at Ayten Gasson Lingerie we try to source as much as possible from the UK, reducing the carbon and water footprint on all our collections. The peace silk used in our eco lingerie range has been carefully produced in Hertfordshire, in the UK. And the cotton laces used have been sourced from one of the last remaining lace mills in England, The Cluny Lace Company, who produced the lace for the duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress.

Key pieces from the collection include a stunning non wired bra, a risqué knicker with keyhole detailing and a ribbon tie eyemask, making this range perfect for Valentine’s Day. Prices start from £22.00 to £58.00 and all pieces are available from www.aytengasson.com.
